The nationwide Career Monitoring Survey starts 10 October

The nationwide Career Monitoring Survey collects information on employment, career and satisfaction with career and UAS degree.

The survey results provide information for the development of curriculum and continuous learning services. Based on the results, the Finnish university of applied sciences develops the content of the education and implementation. In addition, the Ministry of Education and Culture uses the information in the distribution of funding for Finnish universities of applied sciences.

The Career Monitoring survey will be sent on 10 October to all those who graduated from UAS in 2019 by email and text message.

A brief overview of last year's results

The results of the Career Tracking survey carried out last year were very similar compared to previous years. The results show that 87 percent of those who graduated from all universities of applied sciences in 2018 were at least quite satisfied with the degree they completed. Satisfaction with the degree is connected to the equivalence of education, skills and work. Satisfaction is influenced, among other things, by how well the respondent is able to utilize the skills acquired at UAS in current job.

In 2018, 83% of those who graduated with a Bachelor's degree at Lapland University of Applied Sciences were employed (full-time, part-time, self-employed) immediately after graduation. Five years after graduation, 92% of the respondents were employed, 72% of them were working in the field corresponding to their degree. 88% of the respondents were at least quite satisfied with their working career so far.

88% of the respondents who completed the Master's degree were satisfied with their degree. 87% of the respondents were in permanent full-time work at the time of graduation. Five years after graduation, 96% were employed and 65% of them were working in the field corresponding to the degree they completed five years ago. Of the respondents, all were at least quite satisfied with their working career so far.

The results of this year's survey will be published in Vipunen November-December 2024.
