Supporting students’ wellbeing: Wellness Pass introduced in Rovaniemi – wellbeing benefits at a student discount in Kemi and Tornio
New services will be tested in the campus towns during this academic year to support the wellbeing of students at the University of Lapland and Lapland University of Applied Sciences.
In Rovaniemi, the Wellness Pass replaces the previous Sport Pass, whereas in Kemi and Tornio, there are numerous activities and cultural services that support the wellbeing of students.
The Wellness Pass of university students in Rovaniemi covers fixed exercise hours, gym services, culture, and various other services that support students’ wellbeing. The Wellness Pass is coordinated by the Student Union of the University of Lapland. Students in Kemi and Tornio have access to many wellbeing benefits at a student discount in the areas of exercise, sport, and culture. The campus towns offer services according to different models during this trial academic year. The purpose of the pilot phase is to find out the kinds of services that meet the needs of students at each campus. For example service design expertise will be utilised in developing the services.
