Students wish to give back
Give Back To Finland is a spontaneous project by international degree programme students in Lapland UAS
Project idea is to promote social interaction between foreigners and
locals in Finland and encourage them to volunteer and give back to the
community.
A dynamic team of 11 foreign and 2 Finnish students
from Rovaniemi (InnoBarents Lab in LapinAMK) organize interesting and
fun events and activities to entertain unwell patients and senior
citizens. That is to display various cultures with songs and dance
performances, Small craft workshops, a play of the Kalevala, lottery and
Free health checkup by nursing students of LapinAMK.
The first
event is organized in Rovaniemi hospital school on 30th of October. Then
the team visits five senior citizen homes (2nd November- 4th November),
Muurola mentally challenged Hospital on 3rd of November, Revontuli
shopping centre on 5th November and the Sampokeskus on 6th of November.
Project Leader is Flavius Teagha Kum and the other project
members are Abel Boums (Cameroon), WenYu Jia (China), Mayomi Edafe David
(Nigeria), Elif Bgc (Turkey), Medo Aljanahi (Iraq), Nina Niskala
(Finland), Roman Filenko (Russia), Flavius Teagha (Cameroon), Nikita
