Lapland UAS receives funding for two Erasmus+ partnership projects
The partnership projects support the internationalisation and high quality of European higher education.
The Finnish National Agency for Education has made its selections in
the funding calls for Erasmus+ partnership projects, which ended in May
2021.
Higher education institutes submitted 34 applications, and funding
will be provided for 13 projects, two of which come from Lapland UAS.
The Erasmus+ programme is inclusive, green and digital, values that are
also fostered in the confirmed partnership projects. Lapland UAS
received Erasmus+ funding for its projects Creating and Implementing Education for Sustainable High-End Tourism throughout Europe (SUHET) and Sustainable Entrepreneurship for Climate Action (SECA).
The SUHET project develops luxury travel, among other things, based
on MOOC coaching. Its project partners are the University of Maribor in
Slovenia, the European Centre for Quality in Bulgaria, Erasmus Brussels
University in Belgium, and La Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in
Spain.
The SECA project creates guidance material for companies in the form
of a digital work as a stepping stone towards more sustainable
activities and to create ideas for ecological business models. Its
project partners are Turiba University in Latvia and Aachen University
of Applied Sciences in Germany.
The Responsibility in Business and Services expertice group at Lapland UAS is responsible for the planning and implementation of both projects.
The other selected projects cover themes ranging from veterinary
medicine to art and ethical food production, and from the use of AI in
teaching and learning to the development of digital pedagogy.
The
applicants included 21 different higher education institutes and one
other organisation. A total of EUR 3.9 million of funding was granted.
The total amount of funding applied for was roughly EUR 10.8 million.
The projects are coordinated by nine different higher education
institutes, but other organisations such as associations, companies,
research institutions, and foundations are also participating in them.
The two-to-three-year projects will start between November 2021 and
February 2022.
