BRIDGE-project won the Arctic Award 2020
BRIDGE, Barents Region Initiative for Developing Growth and Employability -project has won the Arctic Award 2020.
The BRIDGE-project: Barents Region Initiative for Development Growth and Employability, funded by the Kolarctic ENI CBC programme won the category of Arctic Entrepreneurial Spirit. All projects are judged by a jury of 5 representatives from the Arctic Cooperation programmes.
According to the jury:
“the BRIDGE project has demonstrated:
• focus on enhancing young people’s entrepreneurial skills and employability, as well as creating networks between potential employees and employers,
• the ability to tackle relevant day-to-day demands of both universities and SMEs,
• concrete potential to produce a permanent impact on the practices of the participating higher education institutions and the SMEs, such as improvement in employment rates and quality of the workforce” (Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme 2020).

Financed by the CBC Kolarctic, BRIDGE is a platform that opportune cross-border networking in the Kolarctic region bringing together important stakeholders such as regional enterprises, HEI and students to tackle regional challenges. The stakeholders work collaboratively aiming to enhance regional employability and, empowering small and micro businesses, creating a network that aims to aspire for sustainable answers for the region. Lapland UAS is one of the partners in this project.
