The first international fishing festival in 2014 was conceptualized by a commercial fisherman Olli Klemola (Pälkäne, Finland), because there was a need to exchange information directly between different fishing regions and especially commercial fishermen. Snowchange Cooperative (www.snowchange.org) started to coordinate the events.
The second festival took place in September 2016 in Zigansk, Lena river, Yakutia, Siberia, and gathered together more than 100 professional fishermen from different countries.
