Intelligent power grid and automation solutions

We help companies in the region in intelligent automation solutions, and to promote the green transition. Using data from different sources helps in predictive maintenance and optimisation of energy consumption. Automation solutions can be used in process and equipment control, in new business openings and in developing cooperation between companies. The user experience is an important area in the use of intelligent automation solutions.

Increasing cooperation between electrical and building technology and intelligent automation also opens up new opportunities. Intelligent power grid solutions can be used to manage decentralised energy production and consumption. Intelligent building automation can increase the ecological performance of buildings by being able to adapt to anticipated weather, occupancy and consumption peaks. These technologies include new interface solutions between systems, AI-based learning systems, digital twins and visualisation.

Modern manufacturing and production methods

We assist companies in the region to familiarise themselves and experiment with new manufacturing and production methods in which sustainability and responsibility are at the core of the solutions. This is made possible by using the modern development environments of educational institutions and by conducting agile user-oriented experimentation and development in them.

In addition to traditional methods, our expertise includes technology solutions such as robotics, digital product know-how and additive manufacturing that are in line with Industry 4.0. The new solutions review production chains, taking into account the requirements of product and service design and security of supply.

We help our customers to identify the possibilities and limitations of modern manufacturing and production methods, as well as to develop business operations and networks.

Fossil-free and high-strength materials

Our goal is to be a forerunner in applied research related to fossil-free steels. This includes research on applications, as well as studies and tests related to durability and usability, such as the weldability and formability of steels.

The operations and solutions take into account sustainability and responsibility to a large extent, the elements of which are carbon neutrality, carbon footprint calculation, circular economy standards, life cycle thinking and further use.

An important area in the future will also be the know-how related to the usability of steels in hydrogen applications. Research expertise related to steels can also be applied to new materials, such as bio-based materials.

Our research areas also include developing the operating methods within the subcontractor network, finding out the competitive advantage of sustainable solutions, and brand building and communication.

Circular economy and raw materials

We are actively working to promote the digital green transition of customers operating in different sectors. The focus of the review is on grasping the situation picture and setting long-term development goals systematically, taking into account the entire operational process.

The solutions cover the life cycle management of materials and raw materials, adaptability, optimisation of use, reuse, recyclability, dismantling, material flow management, and the reduction of waste and discarded matter.

The development of new and more sustainable circular economy business models uses information systems and platforms supporting knowledge management and business logic. The tools include a culture of experimentation, cooperation with local operators and matching supply and demand.
