Gym (Kauppakatu 35)
Our students have the opportunity to use Lappia's gym for free under the following conditions.
Students can use the gym, changing room, toilets and washrooms. The gym is in use throughout the academic year, Mon-Sun from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., you must be inside by 10:00 p.m. at the latest.
Students claim personal access (key + deposit) at the student services office in the main building of KKY Lappia (Urheilukatu 6) during office hours. In order to obtain a travel permit, the student must present a photo, valid, student card or a certificate of a valid right to study.
Ball games in Lappia sport hall on Mondays from 18:00 to 19:00. The key to the hall can be picked up from the key box next to the sports equipment locker on the Minerva campus. You can get the code from 040 182 6341

TORNIO CLIMBING CLUB
Boulder climbing:
Bouldering is climbing without safety equipment at low altitudes. Bouldering is practiced with natural stones, shallow rock walls and climbing walls. The height of the routes varies, although you usually climb routes less than five meters high. The height of the Cavella routes is one to four meters and the landing pad is served by a meter-thick foam mattress to ensure a safe landing.

Rope climbing:
Rope climbing can be practiced both indoors and on natural rocks. Rope climbing is usually started in the indoor hall with a top rope, either a rope coming from above or a self-securing device. The wall for rope climbing can be found in Putaan Sports Hall and is available to members of the climbing club and can be booked for private use under the guidance of an instructor. TAEKWON-DO TORNIO RY ITF
Taekwon-Do is a youthful, Korean martial art that has been developed in its current form to conform to old vertical martial arts. Taekwon-Do is known for its spectacular kicks, but includes a wide range of skill-intensive sports such as movement series, matchmaking, power and special technology crushing, and self-defense. The beginners course for 7-12 year olds starts in the fall of 2021. The beginners course for young people and adults on Wednesdays from 6.30 pm to 8 pm. After the trial on Wednesday, the opportunity to participate in the exercises also on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.30 pm to 8 pm. More information and registration: tkdtornio.myclub.fi
TORNIO JUJUTSU SOCIETY
Kujaku Ruy Goshinjutsu
Kujaku is a style developed by Belgian Shihan Paul Pauwels, 9th Dan, based on modern European jujutsu. It is, above all, a form of self-defense with no competitive activity. The alley includes a variety of techniques, such as throws and falls techniques, kicks and punches, and locks and controls.

Brazilian jujutsu and lock wrestling Brazilian jujutsu is a martial and self-defense sport developed on the basis of traditional Japanese jujutsu and judo techniques. The Brazilian jujutsu focuses on the various martial arts techniques used in the country. In a typical match situation, the aim is to take the opponent to the ground as soon as possible, where the match will end with a lock or strangle. The lock wrestling is very much reminiscent of Brazilian jujutsu without a gi, i.e. without a jujutsu suit. Beginner course of Brazilian jujutsu on Mondays from 5.30 pm to 7 pm. Jumppakamu offers diverse exercise opportunities; break gym, body care, relaxation, and even music moments. Vesiliikuntakeskus Kaukavesi, KAMK and Lapland AMK's physical education instructor students, sports planners and the Älyllä Aktiiviseksi university sports project in cooperation with the city of Kajaani are responsible for the planning and implementation of the physical activity content. You should actively scan the site, as the content is updated several times during the week.
