Erasmus+ Student Mobility for Training

 

  • Erasmus+ Student Mobility Programme is one of the biggest student mobility programmes and it enables students to have a grant for the training exchange in Europe. 

  • Students secure the training place themselves but you can also ask about them from the internationalisation services. 

  • You can also freely familiarize yourself with the feedbacks of the earlier exchanges in SoleMOVE. 

  • You can also check available traineeships from ErasmusIntern-traineeship database

Who can become an Erasmus+ Exchange Trainee?
  • All degree students of Lapland UAS can apply to Erasmus+ exchange.

  • Students can receive the Erasmus+ training grant several times during their studies.

  • The exchange period is minimum of 2 months (= 60 days), maximum of 6 months.

  • During the exchange students should gain 5 ECTS credits /month.

  • Training abroad will be transferred to students degree as agreed on the learning agreement.

Grants
  • Erasmus+ grant is based on the duration of the exchange, the country of destination and the number of exchange students.

  • The grant will be paid in two parts, before (80%) and after (20%) the exchange. For 2023-2024 the amount of the Erasmus+ grant for training is:

    • 690 €/month to group 1 countriesDenmark, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom.

    • 640 €/month to group 2 countriesAustria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. 

  • In addition students can apply for Lapland UAS travel grant 450,00 €.

  • Grants will not be enough to cover all the expenditures – it is very likely that during the exchange students have to use their own assets as well!

Application Deadlines for Erasmus+ Training
  • Erasmus+ exchange for training does not have a specific applying date so you can implement it when it is most suitable for your studies.

  • You should start planning for the exchange in time.

  1. Familiarize yourself to the Lapland UAS’s Go International – web pages

  2. Discuss with your Study councellor on the timing and possibility of training abroad

  3. Contact the Internationalisation Services for guidance.

    • The purpose of the guidance is to go through the exchange process and all the required forms, time tables and Learning Agreement for the exchange.

  4. All required exchange documents are delivered to the Internationalisation Services.

Erasmus Exchange Process

Before the exchange

  1. Discuss with your training instructor about the training place’s suitability and suitable time for your training period.

  2. Inform Internationalisation Services of your exchange plans well in advance.

  3. When you have the confirmation of the suitable place of your training, fill: 

    • Erasmus+ Learning Agreement for Traineeships . Training Agreement will be signed by you, the Study councellor/training supervisor and the training destination/institution. It can be handed around as a scan.  

    • If needed, make a separate contract of employment (Must show the amount of possible salary, CV etc. the possible documents required by the employer or the field of your study.

    • If you have any questions regarding the documents, contact Internationalisation Services.

  4. Fill in the electronic SoleMOVE -application and attach Learning Agreement. Internationalisation Services will sign it also at this point (section: responsible person).

  5. After Internationalisation Services has accepted your exchange in SoleMOVE:

    • You will now find Learning Agreement signed by all parties in your SoleMove application.

    • Confirm the exchange in SoleMOVE

    • Apply for the Erasmus+ Training Grant and Lapland UAS Travel Grant in SoleGRANT programme by making one application. Remember to write your IBAN bank account number and Finnish social security number!

    • Upload approved (signed by all parties) Erasmus+ Learning Agreement for Traineeships and Grant Agreement for Erasmus+ Higher Education studies and/or traineeships to Enclosures interleaf.

  6. Familiarize yourself with the Exchange Student’s Check List, get insurances for the exchange, familiarize yourself with the exchange destination and prepare yourself well for the trip! 

  7. Make the OLS- online language test before your exchange. The test is voluntary.

  • It's an online test. You will receive information about the test and how to access it from the Internationalisation Services.
  • It takes about one hour to take the test. The test includes listening comprehension, reading comprehension and grammar. You will receive the results directly after the test. Information on language test.

During Erasmus+ Exchange

  • Read your Lapland UAS email! All communication from home university takes place through Lapland UAS’ email!

  • Contact the Internationalisation Services if you face problematic situations during your exchange.

  • Exchange must not be discontinued or terminated earlier without discussing about it with the Internationalisation Services. 

After Erasmus+ Exchange

  1. Before leaving ask the employer for a signed Traineeship Certificate. It is a confirmation of your exchange dates and based on the document, students can be asked to pay back some part of the grant if needed.

  2. Return the Traineeship Certificate to SoleMOVE.

  3. In SoleMOVE, fill out the information required in the After exchange interleaf and Feedback interleaf.

  4. Fill in the Erasmus+ Participant report. EU commission will send you by email the lin to the EU participant report. Answering to the questionary is obligatory for students participating the Erasmus+ mobility programme. The rest of the Erasmus+ grant is paid after all above mentioned reports and documents have been submitted.

    Students whose credit transfer process is incomplete when answering for the EU Survey, will receive EU Survey 2 automatically after one month of the last day of the exchange. EU Survey 2 is not condition for receiving the rest of the Erasmus+ grant.

  5. Start the credit transfer process: 
    1. Contact your practical training supervisor who will approve your training.
    2. After you can see your practical training credits done abroad in Peppi, order your Transcript of Records through Peppi.  
    3. Upload your Transcript of Records -form to After exchange interleaf in SoleMOVE.
