ajou university

Lapland UAS has a bilateral agreement with Ajou Universit, which is located in the north side of South Korea, place called Suwon.

Ajou University offers international exchange program in autumn semester (August - December) and spring semester (March - June).
Both semester has mandatory orientation week.

Who can apply?
Business and BIT degree programme students can apply to the program, if there is suitable courses to your degree programme. You can contact to Internationalisation Services if you are not sure about the course offer.
Studies

Ajou University offers international exchange program in autumn semester (August - December) and spring semester (March - June).

1 Korean credit hour is 2 ECTS.

The study offer varies depending on whether it is the autumn or spring semester.

Grants
Lapland UAS study and travel grant.

Check if you can get some grants from KELA.

Notice that the exchange grant does not cover all the expenses of the exchange!

Application process

Before the exchange

  1. Start planning your exchange well in advance. Familiarize to the exchange destination, study program and costs.

  2. Contact to Internationalisation Services if you need help with the exchange process, forms and time table.

  3. Check the exchange university’s courses with the Study councellor. Write a Learning Agreement (LA). LA will be signed by the Study councellor and the internationalisation services.  

  4. Make your SoleMOVE application

  5. Write motivation letter.

  6. Download the transcript of records in English from Peppi.

  7. Deliver the documents to the internationalisation services for review. If there is more applicants than exchange places, internationalisation services will make the decision who can apply to the exchange.

  8. If you can apply, fill the application forms of the exchange university and have all required appendices (for example passport copy, passport photos, motivation letter, CV). Deliver forms and documents to the internationalisation services.

  9. AJOU will contact you and send you the Letter of Acceptance.

  10. Send copy of Letter of Acceptance to the internationalisation services and apply for the Lapland UAS Grants in SoleGRANT programme.

  11. Familiarize yourself with the Exchange Student’s Check List and the exchange destination and prepare yourself well for the trip! 

During Erasmus+ Exchange

  • Usually students make small changes to their studies. Always discuss with the study councellor about the possible changes to make sure that they are applicable for your studies.

  • Changing your study plans requires ALWAYS a document Changes to the original learning agreement. For this document remember to have the signatures from the exchange university and scan it to Internationalisation Services (outgoing@lapinamk.fi).

  • Read your Lapland UAS email! All communication from home university takes place through Lapland UAS’ email!

  • Contact the Internationalisation Services if you face problematic situations during your exchange.

  • Exchange must not be discontinued or terminated earlier without discussing the matter with the Internationalisation Services. 

After Erasmus+ Exchange

  1. Before leaving ask the host institution for a signed Letter of Confirmation (Recognition Outcomes - The Receiving Institution form page 1) and return it to SoleMOVE immediately after the exchange. 

  2. In SoleMOVE fill out the After exchange interleaf and Feedback interleaf.

  3. Host university sends the Transcript of Records to Lapland UAS’ Internationalisation Services. Internationalisation Services informs when you can pick up the transcript of records and start the credit transfer process. If you receive it personally, you must download the Transcript to SoleMOVE.

  4. Start the credit transfer process: 
    1. Contact your study councellor and start the credit transfer process electronically in Peppi.
    2. After international studies has been accepted in Peppi and you can see your credits done abroad in there, download your Transcript of Records through Peppi.    
    3. Upload your Transcript of Records -form to After exchange interleaf in SoleMOVE.
