Bachelor of Hospitality Management, tourism

Degree: Bachelor of Hospitality Managment, Restonomi (AMK)
Location: Rovaniemi, Finland
Duration: 210 ECTS, 3,5 years
Teaching time: Daytime teaching

The Degree Programme in Tourism focuses on giving our students skills and knowledge required in the international tourism industry. Lapland is an international tourism destination, which offers a real-life tourism laboratory and unique learning opportunities.

Our Degree Programme in Tourism aims at providing the tourism and hospitality industry with managers who know how to balance travellers' expectations for memorable experiences while protecting nature, culture and the whole planet.
The main emphasis and specialisation area in the programme is Tourism Management and Experience Design.

In the programme-specific studies we emphasise sustainability, risk management and other field-related issues related to the tourism business.Santa claus seal picture

Contemporary marketing, including eCommerce and product development, as well as various language and cultural studies have an important role in the degree programme.

We work in close connection with the local tourism business.The Degree Programme in Tourism also has specific tourism companies in the area with which we have deeper cooperation through e.g. various projects and other study-related assignments.

In addition, we arrange company visits, trips, visiting lectures and other activities together with the working life.

Lapland UAS is an official Goodwill partner of Santa Claus Finland. 

You can expand your professional skills in practice in your training periods. The degree includes 30 ECTS of practical training which can also be completed outside Finland. Training enables you to create valuable networks and connections to tourism companies and other organizations of the field.

Future career prospects


We will offer you skills and expertise required in the international tourism and hospitality industry. After your graduation you will be able to work for private and public organisations having excellent competences and skills in tourism-related subjects with a multicultural and international aspect.

After graduating from our programme as a Bachelor of Hospitality Management you will have many interesting career opportunities as an expert in the tourism and hospitality field, working e.g. as a

  • Marketing/Sales Manager
  • Travel Supervisor
  • Customer Service/Event Manager
  • Sustainable Travel Coordinator
