In the Degree Programme in International Sustainable Business (IB) you will study business in the Arctic Circle in an international group whilst learning how environmental and social factors impact business decisions. Through your studies you will become a business expert who can work innovatively both globally and locally and has an entrepreneur-like approach to the business development. You will learn about the possibilities of establishing a business of your own and creating an individual entrepreneurship path. You will also be able to recognise business opportunities around you. This degree allows you to be employed in various tasks in different fields in business and also in the public sector.
Sustainability is a cross-cutting theme in your studies. Lapland and Arctic region offer an ideal location to study sustainability in a fragile environment. The programme encourages development and implementation of innovative sustainable business ideas in joint projects with businesses, locally and across borders.
You get a strong foundation in business principles such as marketing, financial management, business law, sustainable accounting, business communication and project planning. During your studies you will enhance your knowledge and skills in sustainability and its connection with business. After graduating you will be able to tackle most pressing problems of the world.

You study in an innovative learning environment that combines theory and practice and modern facilities with advanced technologies that support effective learning. You will gain a more concrete approach to the topics studied in projects implemented in close cooperation with local companies and organisations. The programme encourages development and implementation of innovative sustainable business ideas in joint projects with businesses, locally and across borders. Implementation of studies may take multiple forms: in-class studies as well as field activities such as practical training in a company and field trips in the region, an international exchange period and online studies. Students use the Arctic Valley virtual learning environment in business studies.
